The New York Times, November 8, 1917 – Front Page – While celebrating the suffrage victory in New York, Carrie Chapman Catt pledges that NAWSA will now focus on the Federal Suffrage Amendment so women across America have the right to vote. Dr. Anna Howard Shaw says Susan B. Anthony had predicted in 1906 that women would win the right to vote by 1920, which will be the 100th anniversary of her birth. read clipping
