The New York Times, February 26, 1918 – Alice Paul urges Senator James W. Wadsworth, Jr. from New York to vote for the Federal Suffrage Amendment. He is clearly against women's suffrage, and his wife is president of the National Association Opposed to Woman Suffrage. Alice Paul says senators from twenty states have already pledged to vote for the Amendment. And, she says the National Woman’s Party is preparing to work with the state governors, since three-quarters of the states are needed to ratify the Suffrage Amendment. read clipping
