The New York Times, July 16, 1920 – Front Page – Anti-suffrage groups complain about Republican Senator Harding’s support of suffrage. The National Woman’s Party questions what difference it makes to have twenty-nine Republican states ratify the Suffrage Amendment, if there is no thirty-sixth state to ratify it. They continue to hold the Republican Party accountable for delaying suffrage because of the inaction in Connecticut and Vermont. read clipping
