The New York Times, October 31, 1920 – Women will be voting for the first time in more than half the states, and both political parties are concerned about the impact. In all states, except Louisiana and Mississippi, provisions have been made to allow women to vote on November 2. The Louisiana attorney general has said, though, that women can vote without additional legislation in that state. In Mississippi, women will not be allowed to vote because voter registration deadlines had passed before the Suffrage Amendment was ratified. read clipping
