The New York Times, September 12, 1920 – The attorney general of New Jersey says that women can vote under the existing state laws. With this ruling, it appears that women will be able to vote in all states except Mississippi, and possibly Georgia. read clipping

 

The New York Times, September 13, 1920 – The Tennessee Speaker of the House will lead a delegation to meet with the US Secretary of State to urge him to withdraw his proclamation of the Nineteenth Amendment. read clipping

 

The New York Times, September 14, 1920 – When the Connecticut Legislature meets to modify state laws to accommodate women voting in November, one of the US senators from Connecticut, who had been anti-suffrage, says he wants the Legislature to ratify the Suffrage Amendment. The anti-suffrage delegation, led by the Tennessee Speaker of the House, will go to Connecticut to meet with state legislators, after their meeting with the US Secretary of State. read clipping
